Our View

This is the view from our deck!  Isn't it amazing? I love sitting out there and just watching the world go by.

My Soul

And this one.  She is... she is me.  Inside and out.  She looks just like me, she thinks just like me.  It is like watching myself at that age from a unique, new angle.  It's the most wonderful experience!

And this one is an amazing writer. She writes with a knowledge and wisdom far beyond her age. For she, I am sure, is a very old soul.  I have no doubt she will someday be a published author.

I miss our little talks we have before she goes to sleep at night.  I miss how she likes to act all grow up when we are around other people, but is my sweet, little girl when we are alone.

My Heart

This little girl is my heart.  She has a kindness and an energy that she loves to share with everyone.  She makes each and every day of my life with her brighter.

She is also an adrenaline junky.  The bigger the thrill, the more she wants to do it!  And strangers?  What are those?  She wants to be friends with everyone.

When she grows up, I think she will do something that allows her the adventure she craves while interacting with lots of people.  I see her hosting a show like Wild on E!

I miss her smile.  I miss her hugs.

Brrr!

It's been unseasonably cold here or so I am told.  I do know that it was barely in the forties on Friday and Saturday.  And that makes me want to dig out my winter coat, gloves and hat!  Okay, so I hardly ever wear a winter coat.  But I would have if I knew where one was!

Friday night was our date night.  Went to the "big city" of Medford, about 15 minutes away.  Had dinner at a Mexican restaurant.  Barbarian/Hubby loved his seafood enchilada.  My California Wrap Enchilada was not so good.  But the salsa was great and the rice was yummy!

Saturday we headed to downtown Ashland to our favorite coffee shop.  Had a lazy afternoon and then went to see the movie, Babies.  I really enjoyed it.  Barbarian seemed to like it, too.  I would recommend it if you like babies.  But let this serve as a public service announcement!...  It will make you want to have a baby of your own!  Or at the very least, you will be telling everyone you run into stories about your own babies.  No matter how old they are now!

The Peak, Oh My!

Tonight we set out for our hike as usual.  I had no idea we would go so far!  We hiked for almost two hours.  The picture above is of our route.

Our view from about 3/4 of the way up.  You can see the outdoor theater on Barbarian's lower left.  The other side of these rocks is a complete drop.  I only sat on them.  I'm a scaredy cat!

A view from the water tower looking back down.  This pic makes my legs hurt.  :-/

Barbarian found a little deer friend on the way down.  See her, top center?

Three Weeks in OR

Where has the last couple of weeks gone?  Work keeps me so very busy.  But that's probably a good thing.  It's hard to be away from my girls all this time.  Only two more weeks until I see them!  I can't wait!

Barbarian and I try to go for a hike on the trails and hills every evening.  We usually go for 1-2 hours.  These hills are really working my legs!

I took this photo on one of our hikes last week.

Can you see our house?

My First Week in Oregon

So I have survived my first week in Oregon.  It's been an adventure!  I am still struck by the beauty of this place.  It really is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been!

Last weekend, Barbarian and I went to 16th Annual Oregon Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame 2010 Honors Banquet near Portland.  Great night with 400+ other wrestlers and their families.

I started my new job on Monday.  Lots to learn and very busy all the time but I am really enjoying it!  Turns out the office is much larger than I had first thought it would be.  There are almost 30 people.  I've met several of them and everyone is pretty friendly.

The house.  Oh the house.  What can I say about the house?  It is...  still standing!  But it is definitely a house under remodeling construction.  Dust everywhere.  Wow!  But we have a bedroom that is done.  And a bathroom that is ALMOST done.  Those two rooms give me hope!  They are beautiful!  I have taken many before pics of the house and will be posting them as we get different rooms done.  Can't wait to share them with you!
